Organizational Structure

We can easily guess the meaning of organizational structure from the word "organizational". It helps the company to organize the positions and responsibilities of each team members. It also shows the chain of command in a business company. There are different organizational chart such as simple organizational structure, matrix organizational chart and bureaucracy organizational structure. 

Bureaucracy organizational structure is used in the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf company. It is an organizational structure where the concept is "standardization". Since the company is really big and there are so many employees, bureaucracy organizational structure is suitable. 

Due to the consideration of company's privacy and other reasons, the organizational structure of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is not shown. However, by researching the positions of key people in the company, I would say that the organizational structure that they're using is bureaucracy.

Melvin Elias > Three vice presidents > managers from different countries > managers from different stores > lead baristas > baristas > customers

We can see that there are many levels of communication in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Company, which is also known as hierarchy. Therefore, when a customer wants to complain or comment about the service, he must follow the sequence in the organizational structure. We can’t simply skip a hierarchy and directly go to talk to the manager.
